Morningside Gardens features one of the city's first official composting programs for convenient, on-site food scraps collection which has reduced our trash by 35%. The Department of Sanitation takes food waste to facilities that turn it into renewable energy and compost. Special containers for food scraps collection are available to residents, free of charge, at the Management Office.
